My Background
My background is in the Police within child protection and safeguarding. I've worked with children and young people of all ages for over 12 years. I have experience working in partnership with social services, schools, and other agencies. I am a Certified play therapist 3-13 years, and a children and young person creative arts therapeutic counsellor 11-18 years. I am trauma trained to counsel children and young people who have experienced rape, sexual abuse, and sexual assault.
I have a deep passion to be alongside children and young people, in order for them to express their feelings and develop into emotionally resilient young people.
I am fully DBS checked.
Holistic and Person Centred Approach
When I am working with play, I use an integrative holistic approach which integrates a wide range of creative arts within the play therapy Tool-kit. Using the Tool-kit allows me to work with the conscious as well as the unconscious.
In person, or via telephone/online
My counselling approach is person centred. I integrate the creative arts in the therapy room for children and young people aged 11-18. Working in this way allows children and young people to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive environment. Insights can be gained, with positive changes being made in the here and now, and the future. I can offer psychoeducation to help clients understand more about themselves. I can work in person, on the telephone, or online.
